Been wondering of the screen used in this. It almost looks like a vfd but I'm getting a vibe that it's actually a color lcd with a backlight done really well

Mate of mine had a tomytronic, I had the grandstand Firefox, Munchman and Frogger games. I always wanted BMX Flyer but never did get it, this really takes me back.
My sister had Astro Wars and her friend had Firefox F7. I've still got the Grandstand BMX game. I dug it out about 2 years back and was instantly re-hooked!
I had that as a kid and loved it, when you get about 5mins in it goes real fast. Those triangles you wheelie, my brother sent me your link and told me to not “nerd rage”
Absolutely loved BMX Flyer, used to love playing it. Was just sitting humming the tune, what, 35 years later from when I last played it, and that's what made me look for it on youtube. I was shouting WHEELIE at you lol. Hope you got the hang of it in the end. Awesome game
I used to play this.. man I was good.. 🎺 as you progressed further you could jump up to a Air Balloon that would carry you to the end of that level… awesome childhood memories & a small pocket money fortune of batteries… 👍🏾
Yeah was shouting wheelie! I loved mine, it got some serious play time. Remember the girl in the hot air balloon you could jump up and she'd blow you love hearts etc. Basic but briliant game.
I insisted on using mine with a random, but inappropriate AC adapter that fitted fine physically… I was about 9 or 10 and had no idea about these things. Had a blazing good run one afternoon with curtains drawn and the screen bright as the sun …until the back of the unit melted! Thought it felt a bit warm.
I was absolutely hooked on this as a kid and as a kid I was 100 times better at it then this adult on the uploaded video. He's like a hippopotamus doing ballet.
